The Tree Operations Crew Member performs a variety of field operations for all tree planting, care and related activities.  This crew member should have a “roll up your sleeves” attitude and enjoy working outside throughout the DMV. Our crew members works with internal/external stakeholders, including other Casey Trees departments, community volunteers, etc.  This is a full-time, year-round position with competitive benefits upon hire. 

Salary Range: $25.75 Hourly. Casey Trees offers excellent benefits including health, dental, vision, flexible spending account, paid holidays, paid time off, and retirement plan 403(b). This position is non-exempt.

GIS INTERN

The GIS Intern connects people to trees using maps and data. The incumbent supports the Tree Operations department on a range of initiatives from grant reporting to administrative functions. 

Salary Range: $24.00 Hourly. The internship is a nonexempt hybrid position averaging 24 hours per week.

HORTICULTURE TECHNICIAN (2 Positions)

The Loudoun County Department of Parks, Recreation, and Community Services is actively seeking qualified individuals for a full-time position as a Horticulture Technician. This role primarily involves carrying out specialized horticultural duties at municipal facilities throughout the county, both independently and as part of a team. Key responsibilities include the application of herbicides and pesticides, as well as pruning, installing, and maintaining high-value plantings. Additionally, the position requires conducting root-flare excavations, managing invasive exotic species, modifying plantings in the field, and implementing precision fertilization techniques. The Horticulture Technician also provides training and supervision to contractors involved in horticultural activities for the program.

TEMPORARY HORTICULTURE SPECIALIST II

Incumbent is responsible for cultivating gardens with appropriate plants; planting and caring for them with watering, weeding, pruning, and pest and weed control. The Gardener works in concert with the Facilities Director to select cultivars and plant them at the appropriate time and in the right locations. Incumbent prunes and fertilizes shrubs and assists with grounds maintenance. Gardeners also interpret the Gunston Hall gardens to the public as needed.
